Gmmco has institutionalized 6 Sigma and CPS Lean principles for over a decade. 6 Sigma is the way of Continuous Process improvement at Gmmco and 6 Sigma culture is deeply embedded in the DNA. Cross functional team members collaborate together to achieve the Project Goals. Several successful projects have been implemented which received appreciations from Caterpillar in the form of President Awards.

The various awards received are Silver Award for Improve Customer Loyalty through CVS-IP (2011), Operational Excellence Award for Integrated Approach to drive Customer Engagement in EPD (2012), Gold Award for Excellence in Service Training to drive High Customer Engagement (2013), Customer Experience Award for the project Drive BHL PS Growth and Customer Engagement through Process & Technology (2014) and Operational Excellence Award for Differentiated Customer Service & Engagement Strategy Leading to Incremental Service Business Growth (2015).

M/s Niko Resources has felicitated Gmmco’s O&M Team and honored them for achieving set targets of ‘Incident-Free’ Operation and implementing safety rules.

Caterpillar has awarded the 5-Star Contamination Control Certification to Gmmco’s Nagpur workshop and the 4-Star Contamination Control Certification to the Chennai workshop. What this means to customers is a totally clean service.

In a record 25 months of assembly time, the largest dragline in India was commissioned at Reliance UMPP at Sasan. It was an engineering achievement by Gmmco’s three hundred plus dedicated work force which includes engineers, supervisors, technician and support staff with world-class safety records. The unmatched adherence to quality and adherence to the project schedule has helped the entire assembly project to be on par with one of the best project execution timing.

As part of its effort to create increased capacity for Machine Rebuilds and to accommodate larger machines, Gmmco, as a part of the Cap and Cap exercise, created a new green field facility at Butibori in Nagpur; with a capacity to roll out about 50 rebuild machines a year.

GMMCO has successfully executed a break-through developmental order of 2 nos. 3508 Engines for Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) locomotive

application order with Indian Railways after a gap of 14 years.
