Operator Training Program

As a first of its kind initiative “Operator Training Program” was launched by Gmmco on 03rd Sept 2011 focused on CAT 424B training as a joint venture with Chhattisgarh Nirman Academy(NRDA) at Naya Raipur. The training program consists of 8 weeks rigorous training consisting of Class Room Lectures and On Job & class room training. Gmmco’s efforts in this direction was targeted towards skill development and employment / entrepreneurial opportunity development of youth. As per agreement NRDA provides the venue for training and Gmmco developed the course structure and provides machines and Operators for training purpose. NRDA has also promised to provide contract opportunities worth 1 million for the trained operators who take the entrepreneurial plunge by becoming machine owners and GMMCO provides the necessary support in helping them receive loan approvals to enable them to buy the machine.

This initative of Gmmco – Operator training initiative achieved a milestone this year by completion of 11 batches and 5 years of partnership between NRDA & Gmmco and 100+ trained operators.

To celebrate this an “Entrepreneurship development program” was conducted on 17th March in which all the trained operators were invited and interactions were enabled between various stakeholders.

Mr. MD Kawre, Ad. CEO-NRDA & Mr. Navin Markande, MLA, Aarang were the chief guests.

85 alumni from amongst the 100+ alumni who have undergone the training at various points of time participated along with Gmmco team, NRDA (New Raipur Development Authority) officials and local public leaders.

Tata Capital representatives also participated in the event and explained the financing terms and options involved in getting a loan approved. They also evaluated the participants – who were prospective buyers of Caterpillar Machines, for providing loans. NRDA officials yet again promised support thro’ assured contract opportunities to support successful applicants in the Endeavour of becoming machine owners.

44 Certificates with NRDA stipend were distributed to alumni from the recent batches. MLA Navin Markande and NRDA Ad. CEO expressed their willingness to support the operators who wish to buy machines.

Mr. Narsingh Bharti (Alumni – 1st Batch) shared his inspirational story of how from a job seeker he went on to attend this training , take the entrepreneurial plunge by becoming a machine owner to how NRDA helped him by providing him contracts and how today he owns 3 CAT424B machines.

Mr. Rakesh Kumar- (Alumni – 3rd Batch) who was absorbed by Gmmco as a Rental Machine Operator also shared his story to the attendees to serve as an inspiration.
