Proposed Perkins Factory in India all set to become a reality soon

Perkins' new manufacturing facility in India is all set to roll out Engines by 2013 as per schedule.

Being built at a cost of USD 150 Million over 11 acres in the Shendra Industrial Area in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, the plant that is equipped with state-of-art technology and processes will produce 3000 Engines per annum of the popular 4000 Series, with a capability to increase capacity to 5,000 units per year later. The production of the plant is primarily meant for domestic consumption and will also be used for export to countries of the Asia Pacific region.

The powerful 4000 Series is a range of 6-, 8-, 12- and 16-cylinder diesel and spark ignited gas engines that range from 695kWm up to 2083kWm. The latest introduction, the 4016-61TRG, is the most powerful Engine ever produced by Perkins and it will be now produced in the Aurangabad Plant.

The plant, some artist's impressions of which are shown here, will become a reality in mid-2013 and will be one of the best for Engine manufacture anywhere in the world.
