1967
Gmmco was formed in 1967 after the GP-CKA Birla Group took over Blackwood Hodge Equipment, the then distributor of Terex products.
1986
Gmmco partnered with Caterpillar Inc. to make Cat® products accessible to India. Together, we are empowering industries, building infrastructure, and shaping a brighter future for millions nationwide.
1997
Our first Rebuild Centre, the Nagpur Component Rebuild Centre (CRC), was launched to enhance the performance and provide a new lease of life to Cat equipment. This marked a key step in our commitment to operational efficiency and cost-effective solutions.
2008
Gmmco partnered with Perkins to launch Gmmco Power, a strategic collaboration focused on providing efficient, reliable and sustainable power solutions across industries.
2012
Gmmco partnered with Daimler to offer a wide range of sales and after-sales services for BharatBenz trucks and transportation solutions to meet the needs of businesses across India.
2015
Gmmco played a key role in the Reliance SASAN Power Project, India’s largest dragline commission, completing it in a record time. The successful completion supports the project’s goal of providing sustainable power to millions.
2015-18
Gmmco set up the Machine Rebuild Centres (MRC) and Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) at Butibori, Kannur, and Chennai to provide high-quality refurbishment and repair services. The establishment of these MRCs strengthens our commitment to offering reliable, cost-effective solutions across India.
2020
Gmmco partnered with Schneider Electric to enhance our ability to offer efficient and sustainable energy solutions, providing reliable power systems across industries.
2023
IIMS was launched as an independent entity to efficiently manage Daimler and other business operations. This move ensures focused leadership and streamlined services, enhancing performance across multiple sectors.
